The Kentucky Children’s Garden: Lexington, KY

Throughout the summer, Leo and I have made various trips around Central KY exploring all the area has to offer. One of our favorite places that we have visited so far is The Kentucky Children’s Garden.

The Kentucky Children’s Garden is at The Arboretum found on the University of Kentucky’s campus. The Arboretum is a great place to walk and enjoy nature, but if you have a toddler I highly recommend paying the fee to enter The Children’s Garden.

As soon as you enter, you are surrounded by beautiful greenery. There are also mist-ers (?) as soon as you enter. This was great to cool off, but wasn’t so much water that your child will need a change of clothes – unless I guess they really like them! Other attractions include watering the plants (with really cool systems to fill the watering cans), an area where a craft was happening, a pond with a boat that they can walk on, a dirt pit to play, a small train to watch ride by, and Leo’s all time favorite and where we spent the majority of our time — the creek!

Overall, we had so much fun there that we decided to go back with friends for a play date! If you are in the area and are looking for something to do with your toddler/child — I high recommend checking it out!
