Change is coming in the Knight household, and I would by lying if I said that it wasn’t bittersweet. Up until this point Leo has never really left our side except for occasional visits from Nana Kim. This week we will be going to an Open House for his Parents Day Out program. He will be going for a few hours a couple times a week to gain social skills that we find valuable. Although, I am going to be both relieved to get some time to do a few things around the house and sad to leave him somewhere new, I know that this is the best decision for us.
So, to kick things off, I wanted to make his teachers a quick little basket of goods. As a former teacher, there are few things that make me more happy than school supplies – but cleaning supplies and snacks are pretty close. I bought things with intention and made sure they were all green to coordinate with his class color. Here is a list of things that I added to basket:

From Dollar Tree:
- A GREEN plastic basket that can be used in their classroom if needed. You can write on it with dry erase markers and it comes off, so great for labeling.
- GREEN glue. Really, this was just because it was green and cute, but it could be used during crafting time.
From Target:
- GREEN Clorox wipes
- GREEN hand sanitizer
- GREEN box of Kleenex
- GREEN granola bars for snacking (teachers only!)
- GREEN chewing gum
- GREEN box of pens
- GREEN post-it notes
- GREEN package of life savers
- GREEN tissue paper

Honestly, it turned out really cute and I’m excited to have Leo give it to their teachers when we meet them. Do you enjoy making gift baskets? Do you send a little gift for your child’s teacher? Comment below any back to school gift ideas or just a reason to curate
